SASWATI CHAKRABORTY (ARTLSAS)

ARTIST BIO

Saswati Chakraborty is a professional artist from India, presently residing in the United States. She is self taught and works in both digital and traditional (Watercolor and Acrylics) mediums.
She is a magazine cover artist and is a 21-draw certified illustrator.

Saswati worked with watercolors for almost 10 years and focuses on hyper realism and botanical drawings. She takes special interest in the field of botanical sketches and drawings, herself being in the profession of a biologist.

She started painting with watercolors in 2012 and her first noteworthy watercolor blog (The Dynamic World of Watercolor Painting) was published in Doodlewash e-Blog, 2017. This showcased some of her recognized paintings.

In Digital medium, Saswati mostly works with Procreate taking special interest in human portraits, creations of original fantasy creatures and mythological characters, highly inspired from folklores and vintage arts.
In 2023, Saswati formed her social media brand “ArtlySas” to interact with social platforms and recently in May, 2024 she was selected as a directory artist of Women United Artist Magazine.

Saswati’s artworks have been appreciated and published in Japan’s leading 365Artplus magazine in their “Case 65: Dolls Issue''. Since 2021, my traditional and digital works have been recognized on various international platforms.

I served as a business advisor and grooming mentor in one of India’s leading 3d and VFX company Franchisee from the year 2005 to 2009.

Besides the artistic domain, I am a MBA in Customer Relationships and have been tutoring students and have completed my Masters in the field of Microbiology in 2004 from India.

As an artist working in both traditional and digital mediums, my work encapsulates the intersection of technology, and creativity, pushing the boundaries of contemporary art. With a foundation as a professional cover artist, my journey has been enriched by the honor of having my works published in esteemed international art magazines. These experiences have not only broadened my reach, but also deepened my commitment to exploring new visual narratives.

My artistic practice revolves around the dynamic possibilities of digital media allowing me to amalgamate the traditional methods in my works and create fantasy works which delve further deeper into imaginative realism. This fusion creates a vibrant and immersive experience, inviting viewers to engage with the artworks. Each piece I create, is a testament to the limitless potential of digital and traditional combinatorial artistry, reflecting the complexity of human expression and fantasy genre.

Aspiring to expand my presence on international platforms, I am dedicated to share my artworks with a broader audience. My goal is to grow and develop as an artist, while reaching more art groups and enthusiasts, who share equal passion for art. These collaborations are vital to my overall growth as an artist, providing opportunities to exchange ideas, inspire creativity, sell my works on a global platform and cultivate a global community of art lovers.
