ARTIST STATEMENT
Art is the universal language that transcends borders, and I create to build bridges between cultures. As a painter, calligrapher, and fashion designer, my work is rooted in the refined traditions of Chinese art while engaging in dynamic conversation with contemporary global aesthetics.
Ink brush painting and calligraphy connect me to centuries of artistic heritage—each stroke carries intention, each composition balances energy and stillness. My "Love For All Seasons" exhibition embodied this philosophy, translating classical Chinese nature motifs into modern visual poetry. When I design fashion, like the "THE ELIZABETH" collection featured at Midwest Fashion Week, I treat fabric as another canvas—merging structural innovation with the fluidity of Eastern artistic principles.
Being named among The 100 Most Influential Chinese Contemporary Artists is a responsibility I honor by pushing boundaries. Whether through exhibitions, publications, or cultural philanthropy, I aim to dissolve barriers—not just between East and West, but between art forms themselves. My book "The Love of Panda Our Common Ground" extends this mission, using storytelling to reveal shared human connections.
Art, for me, is both sanctuary and catalyst. It preserves tradition while propelling it forward, inviting viewers to find their own place in this continuum. Every piece I create—whether on paper, silk, or in the pages of a book—is an invitation to cross-cultural dialogue, where heritage and modernity dance in harmony.
