THIS EXHIBITION DELVES INTO THE DUALITY OF FEMININE IDENTITY—WHERE THE DIVINE AND THE EARTHLY, THE INNOCENT AND THE DANGEROUS, COEXIST IN A DELICATE YET POWERFUL BALANCE. THROUGH A SELECTION OF WORKS FROM QUID PRO QUO, DESTINY, L’AMOUR FATAL, AND ANGELS MINI SERIES, IRINA JOMIR CONSTRUCTS A VISUAL DIALOGUE BETWEEN PURITY AND PROVOCATION.
WITH INFLUENCES FROM CLASSICAL PAINTING AND SURREALIST STORYTELLING, HER IMAGES QUESTION SOCIETAL PERCEPTIONS OF FEMININITY, RECLAIMING IT AS BOTH SACRED AND DISRUPTIVE. WHETHER PORTRAYING WOMEN AS SAINTS, SEDUCTRESSES, OR SELF-POSSESSED FORCES OF FATE, SACRED & PROFANE INVITES VIEWERS INTO A REALM WHERE BEAUTY, POWER, AND MYTH COLLIDE.

"In my photography, I explore human emotions and their effects on people and society. I’m especially interested in women’s stories as they face life’s challenges. Each photo tells a visual story, uncovering hidden aspects of their experiences and inner strength.
Emotions can connect, change, or sometimes trap us, affecting how we see the world. Through my work, I aim to highlight these feelings, offering a space for reflection without imposing my own views.
Using light, composition, and atmosphere, I create photos that encourage deep thought. I start by sketching my ideas, planning each detail to evoke the right emotion. Careful use of light and color sets the mood and story. I often use hand-painted backdrops to add depth and authenticity.
By blending natural and artificial light, I create immersive scenes that blur the line between reality and art. I try to capture each story in a single shot, using careful editing to enhance the photo without losing its genuine feel.
Inspired by artists like Frida Kahlo and Artemisia Gentileschi, who conveyed strong emotions and stories, I aim to create images that go beyond time and culture. I want viewers to think about their own feelings and the shared human experience.
Ultimately, my photography tells universal stories, capturing the mental and emotional landscapes that define us all."
