Carlotta Hey is a Product Developer and a freelance illustrator based in Melbourne, Australia. As both a designer and visual artist her work explores the intricate relationship between texture and design. Each piece reflects a careful balance of tactile sensations and visual experiences, such attention to detail invites viewers to appreciate the beauty of fashion beyond mere fabric.

Much of her recent work has been influenced by her early university studies, detailed garment sketches and technical drawings.

She has since exhibited in various shows, gaining international recognition for her unique style, with pieces sold across Europe and Australia. This success highlights the resonance her work has with collectors and fashion enthusiasts alike. ARTIST STATEMENT

In my latest fashion illustration series, I strive to capture the detailed relationship between texture and design. Fashion is not merely about fabric and form; it is an intricate dialogue of tactile sensations and visual experiences emphasized by using a carefully curated limited colour palette.

The decision to work with a limited colour palette stems from my desire to shift the viewer's focus to the interplay of light and shadow, the contours and folds as well as the tactile qualities of the materials.
In a world often overwhelmed by colour and pattern, my illustrations offer a moment of pause—a chance to appreciate the artistry behind each design.

My hope is that viewers will find themselves drawn into this world, feeling the fabrics, sensing the style and ultimately, appreciating the beauty of fashion in its most tactile form.
